Cowboys Have Lost Eight of the Last Nine: Jerry Jones Admits the Cardinals Curse Is Real

By , Cowboys of Dallas ·

Cowboys fans, you know the feeling. On paper Arizona is a struggling team. On the field, they own Dallas.

Our Take: Jerry Jones is right to call it what it is. Dallas is 3-4 and has not won two in a row all year, so this is the exact kind of game that decides whether the Eagles win was a turning point or just another tease.

The San Antonio Express-News reports Arizona has won eight of the last nine meetings, the Cowboys haven't beaten the Cardinals since 2017, and Arizona is 4-0 all-time at AT&T Stadium. "Out of 10, they've got all but one of our numbers. So we've got to change that. And it's real," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan. "We've just gotta really be at our best."

The Dallas Morning News adds that Jacoby Brissett will start for Arizona and that the Cowboys have allowed 211.5 rushing yards per game at home. Javonte Williams is coming off a career-high 155 rushing yards against the Eagles, per the same report.

What to watch: The run game on both sides. If Williams keeps rolling and the defense stops Arizona's backs early, the curse ends. If Dallas gets gashed on the ground again at home, it's the same old story.
